Why Makeup Artists don’t do “eyes only”
This is usually and specially asked by bridesmaids or people attending weddings or events. Let me tell you why good Makeup Artists do not offer “just eyes” or “eyes only”. I really wanted to make this a Blog post because it is a very common question.
When you hire a Makeup artist you want to hire someone who will get you camera ready, someone you can proudly say they did your makeup and that made you feel your best!
I always say that makeup is a process, it takes technique to build the layers in the right way to achieve an overall amazing look. If you put a lot of effort in your eyes but your lips are a mess, then the whole look will go down.
I know that this is a common service offered in makeup counters and is why the question is asked, but the difference is that a makeup counter’s job is to show you a specific product and sell it. If you like it you will come back for it, even if the person who sold it to you first is not there anymore.
But for makeup artists, how you look on your wedding day or in the event you are attending is basically our business card, it is how we get referrals, therefore, it is in our BEST interest that you look PERFECT, and the truth is: no one sees “just eyes”, they see a complete full face of makeup that has our name tagged to it.
This is why we can’t do eyes only and pray that it won’t hurt our business.
I wanted to be completely honest with you there, but apart from that, think how much more relaxed and happy you will be without having to think about finishing your makeup and just sit and let me pamper you 🙂
Find a Makeup artist who you feel comfortable with and that has a style that you like and relax.
